WWE Money In The Bank Predictions

del rio.jpg

It’s been a while people and for that I apologise, but with one of the standout WWE events coming up this Sunday, what better time to make a return. WWE Money In The Bank comes to us Sunday, one of the most exciting and unpredictable nights in the WWE calendar is upon us, so allow me to give you my thoughts and predictions.

Pre show.jpg

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Hunico & Camacho

My first reaction was I thought that the Prime Time Players were the number one contenders for the WWE tag titles, another thought is why aren’t either Kofi or Truth in the Money In The Bank match. Looking towards the match, it seems like WWE is maybe swaying ever so slightly to doing more with the Tag Team division, but nothing too much for us to get excited about, this may be your standard short match and expect the reigning champions to win.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston & R-Truth

World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money In The Bank Ladder Match

This could be the hardest match to predict on the card, not because it has the most competitors, but that there are two obvious winners, which usually means we are in for a surprise. In past experiences, reigning champions going into one of these matches do not win, but I don’t know whether to rule out Santino, to me, he is not considered one of WWE’s best wrestlers, but he is one of their most used talents, mainly for comic relief, if he was given a serious character then he would be one of the best, he has been a runner up in a Royal Rumble and was the final person eliminated from the Elimination Chamber in February, so don’t rule out Santino. Tyson Kidd, I have been waiting for someone to attack him and take his place, the man is never seen on mainstream TV, just Superstars and NXT (Though my American friends are unable to watch NXT) an all of a sudden he is in this match, don’t get me wrong, Tyson Kidd is an awesome athlete but he is just in this match to fill the role of Shelton Benjamin and Kofi Kingston in being the high flyer doing the insane multi person splash. Sin Cara may be the wildcard on this, since coming back from the injury, he has been on top of his game and finally seems to have adjusted to WWE life, hardly any botches, if any, and WWE want him to succeed as he is Triple H’s first signing to the WWE. Tensai to me doesn’t seem to be in the running for this match, he’s the big powerful man in the match but WWE seem to have lost interest in him not long after his debut and rather than him winning this match, they seem to focus on Tensai beating the crap out of Sakamoto. Damien Sandow may want to enlighten us all, but I’m sure he wants a world title shot, he may portray the cowardly combatant in this match to avoid any ladders but there is a real good chance of him winning this match, but if he is to do it, he will do it with doing very little in this match. Christian, Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler, on paper, would be the three favourites for this match, but I’m ruling out Christian straight away with him being the Intercontinental champion and when you’re left with Ziggler and Rhodes, the obvious favourite is Ziggler, which means WWE will completely go another way. Very hard to predict this match but it should be exciting.

Prediction: Tough one but I say Cody Rhodes

WWE Championship Contract Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Unlike the World Title ladder match, this one is very easy to predict, but this could be one of the poorest Money In The Bank matches ever as there are only 4 combatants, but 3 are very limited on their moves and abilities. I’m hoping that we get a couple of surprise entrants in this to make it abit more interesting, after all this match was only open to former WWE champions, so it’s possible that The Miz could compete as a one off from his movie filming, Rey Mysterio is due back this week, why not bring him in, Mick Foley could do a match, or would WWE shock us in bringing back Undertaker for one night? I think the most likely option is that the loser in the World Heavyweight Championship match will be involved in this match. Chris Jericho will not win, as Fozzy will release a new album in a month’s time and there is to be a tour to coincide with the album, Kane will not win as he just seems to be random at the moment, WWE seem to be using him in multiple stories with nothing solid. Ultimately it’s going to be between Cena and Big Show but I don’t see Big Show winning, if you remember 2 years ago at the first Money In The Bank event, WWE made such a big deal out of Big Show being unable to climb a regular ladder as his weight cannot be held, so unless Show brings his super heavyweight ladder, then he ain't going up nothing. Money In The Bank usually is a surprise to us, but I don’t see a surprise in this match as John Cena will make history and win his first Money In The Bank match.

Prediction: John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship Match

In recent weeks, we have seen an aggressive Alberto Del Rio, and this has been much needed, otherwise this would be a landslide victory for Sheamus, but Del Rio has had the upper hand over Sheamus lately, and recently, he used one of his cars to his advantage and beat down Sheamus. Sheamus however, is on such a roll as World Heavyweight Champion that it’s hard to see anyone that can beat him legitimately, that’s why I think the only way Sheamus will lose his title is to someone cashing in Money In The Bank. For Sunday, this will hopeful be a good match, that makes Del Rio look as good as Sheamus, because if Sheamus dominates Del Rio, what’s for him next? The only way that having Del Rio lose quickly would work is that later in the night, Del Rio wins the WWE Championship Money In The Bank Contract.

Prediction: Sheamus

WWE Championship Match With A.J. As Special Guest Referee

A.J. has been the best thing to watch on Raw and SmackDown in a long time, and having her play all the games with Kane, Punk and Bryan over the last few months has been really enjoyable, when was the last time that a woman closed out Raw on consecutive weeks?? My one little concern is that the focus is going to be on A.J. rather than the match itself, but anytime that Punk and Bryan get in the ring, we are guaranteed a top quality match. I think I’m safe in saying that we are all expecting that there is going to be some sort of screw job or dirty finish to this match, but that doesn’t mean that I’m saying that A.J. is going to screw over Punk for him to lose the title, what’s to say that A.J. doesn’t screw Bryan? The ending of this match will ultimately leave the story open for a return match at SummerSlam and this could be the widely rumoured Iron Man match. As for Sunday, expect some great wrestling and great storytelling.

WWE Elimination Chamber Predictions

Hello everyone again and welcome back, we are on the road to Wrestlemania and we have reached our final stop, the Elimination Chamber. The card is very small at 4 matches but here is my breakdown of those matches.

Ambulance Match: John Cena vs. Kane
This rivalry has basically been over a t-shirt slogan, Kane wanting Cena to embrace the hate, because many of us fans are bored of Cena and his predictability, so getting him to show other emotions as in hate and rage will show the younger members of the WWE universe another side of John Cena that they have not seen. It has been good to see Kane go back to the mask and being more of the sadistic monster that we know he should be. When you look at this match, you have to look forward to Wrestlemania and then come to the conclusion that you cannot have John Cena lose before he goes on to face The Rock in the Wrestlemania main event, if Cena was to lose, then how would anyone expect him to look credible against The Rock? So, for me, it’s a hands down win for John Cena, and I would guess Kane would go into the Money In The Bank match at Wrestlemania.

Divas Championship: Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Tamina Snuka
For the first time in years, many people are looking forward to a women’s match and not treating it as the designated bathroom break of the event. I think that WWE has failed to mention that Tamina is Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka’s daughter (sarcasm alert) but since her debut in WWE, she has yet to be able to show what she can do until now, and seeing her work in the ring is showing us a fresh side of WWE women’s wrestling as she is the only female competitor that will use ariel ability and the top rope on a regular basis, something which has rarely been seen in years. Beth has been dominant as ever and in claiming there is no competition in the women’s division, Tamina will pose an actual threat but again, much like the Cena/Kane match, you have to look to Wrestlmania and see that Beth is on course to face Kharma so as much as a good match this will be, hoping that these two are given adequate time in the ring, there is no way that Beth will lose, so Beth Phoenix will retain and go onto Wrestlemania as champion.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Wade Barrett vs. Santino Marella vs. The Great Khali
Please do not adjust your monitor while looking at the line up for this title match, these are the actual combatants, due to Mark Henry and Randy Orton’s injuries, they have been replaced by WWE’s version of Dumb and Dumber! While Santino can work in the ring and he does grasp every opportunity he is given and runs with it. Khali on the other hand, besides being an ex World Champion, is just horrible in the ring, I hate to criticize someone on their work but this man is not suited to pro wrestling and a spot in a worlds title match is not the place he should be either, I’m hoping that these two are cannon fodder and will be taken out on the night so they don’t enter the chamber, maybe surprise entrants like Christian or Alberto Del Rio come to take their place or someone like Drew McIntyre, desperate for opportunities takes a spot, either way Santino and Khali will not win. In my view, there are only two possible winners of this match, Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett, If Wade was to win, then in truth it would only be a short reign until Wrestlemania and he, Bryan and Sheamus would share a triple threat match as they all have history but the more realistic outcome would be for Daniel Bryan to retain and to face Sheamus one on one at Wrestlemania and have the match and moment they were robbed off 12 months ago, so for me, Daniel Bryan wins in the Elimination Chamber.

Order of eliminations:
1.      The Great Khali
2.      Cody Rhodes
3.      Big Show
4.      Wade Barrett
5.      Santino Marella

Raw Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Miz vs. R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston
This match will be the main event and for a chamber match, it has a stacked card, all six competitors are viable contenders and are capable on putting on a top quality match. Elimination Chamber follows a pattern this year, all matches are very predictable going into Wrestlemania, there are only two possible winners here, Punk or Jericho, but let’s take a detailed look at this. If Punk was to retain the title, we would have to go through some sort of number one contendership tournament or battle royal, which you know that one of the five combatants in the chamber would win, being Jericho, the other four men would probably be in Money in the Bank as nothing else has been suggested by WWE for them. Therefore looking at that, the logical approach would be for Chris Jericho to win the WWE Title in the chamber and build for a rematch at Wrestlemania, Jericho can use some shenanigans to win, there is no DQ in the chamber and the pinfalls can happen on the iron floor outside the ring, so Jericho could use the ropes or chains to his advantage for leverage, or possible put Punk’s feet through the chains so he cannot kick out of the pin. Another possible outcome could be a weapon of some sorts, brass knuckles are a classic to use, as it would be the only weapon you could possibly get into the chamber, another outcome for Jericho winning that I thought could be some sort of John Laurainitis distraction of some sorts, as that rivalry is still there. Ultimately, the end result for me is a new WWE Champion in Chris Jericho but there will be some sort of shady antics that lead to his victory, thus giving Punk the fuel and reasoning for the rematch at Wrestlemania.

Order of eliminations:
1.      R-Truth
2.      The Miz
3.      Kofi Kingston
4.      Dolph Ziggler
5.      CM Punk

That’s the complete card, it’s pretty short, suggestions are that you could see a Tag Title match possibly with Primo/Epico against The Uso’s, Jack Swagger may defend his U.S. Title but I wouldn’t know who against and maybe Sheamus may have a match similar to the way Alberto Del Rio did last year but again I wouldn’t know who he would compete against. There may be alot of backstage promos in this event due to possible changes in the card and line up so be prepared for that but this is the way I see WWE Elimination Chamber going down. Thanks for reading.
